Creating a safe and healthy working environment is fundamental to our business.

As a quality provider of sustainable construction services and an employer that is committed to achieving a healthy and safe work environment, we have a range of accredited health & safety systems and procedures which are equivalent to the standards set by ISO 18001 (2501). 

Health and Safety is integral to our business activities and we recognise and understand our responsibilities. Our Health & Safety Management system is reviewed annually to take into account changes to legislation, guidance and best practice and is independently audited by a number of bodies as part of the various certification approvals we undertake. We believe that providing a safe working environment for our employees and others who may be affected by our works is our highest priority. Legislation such as the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 are a starting point from which we use to always meet or exceed the requirements of legislation.

We hold accreditation from CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. Each of these certification bodies independently audits our Management System documentation and our records to ensure our compliance to Health & Safety Standards.

Our Health and Safety team are OSHCR Registered, hold NEBOSH Qualifications and Chartered Membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.

Our Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental procedures and protocols are all approved to ISO standards. David H Allan is a member of the following professional bodies and trade associations.

A Safe, Risk Free Working Environment

We strive for continuous improvement in our standards and aim to achieve a safe, risk free working environment. All our management and site staff receive full training, which is constantly monitored and updated and refresher courses are undertaken. We hold a comprehensive Health and Safety Policy which is open to and is available for review at any time.  This policy is reviewed annually and is revised to reflect any changes in legislation.

As a company we expect our employees, subcontractors and suppliers to comply with our Health and Safety Policy and to take individual responsibility to ensure that work is carried out to a high standard, without risk to themselves or others.  Consultation with employees, clients and our external consultants is an important part of our practices and it is through this process that we set targets to monitor our methods and performance.

Our aim is always to do more than what is expected to provide a safe and healthy environment for staff, subcontractors, visitors and any others who may come into contact with our business’ activities.
