Refurbishment of Ward and Medical Space on Level 8 and Partial Refurbishment of Level 7
Client: Laing O’Rourke
Project Value: £1.1 Million
We completed an impressive refurbishment of several run-down wards in one of Glasgow’s busiest hospitals, Gartnavel General Hospital. The new medical space now boasts an impressive facility which will be used to provide elderly care in a new and improved environment that has the benefit to patients, public and staff at its heart.
Our teams worked competently on this project and in full compliance with all HAI Scribe Infection Control procedures to provide new ward and medical space inclusive of new reception areas, consultation rooms, a physiotherapy gym, communal wards, individual patient rooms, toilets, leisure rooms, waiting areas, utility rooms and staff work areas.
Our multi-trade works on Level 8 included all demolition and strip out works to the existing layout. We then delivered a varied works package which included new plasterboard partitioning, door installations and all ironmongery works. We carried out all new suspended ceiling installations and flooring works throughout an expansive area on Level 8 which was 125 m long x 11 m wide. We also delivered some additional works on Level 7 which involved some patch-up and maintenance works including the opening up of ceilings and walls to enable services installation works to be undertaken, the closure of walls and ceilings and also decoration works to some areas.
